8 leading art organisations are proud to present the inaugural month-long celebration of contemporary art and culture, to promote and highlight contemporary art and artists through exhibitions, talks, workshops, seminars and performances.

1a space, Artist Commune, Asia Art Archive, Goethe-Institut Hongkong, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Osage Art Foundation, Para/Site Art Space and Videotage are joining forces to present October Contemporary. Each year the month of October will be dedicated to one umbrella theme around which each participating organisation will develop its own programs.

In its inaugurating year, 'AGAIN' has been selected as the umbrella theme. 'AGAIN' addresses the bridging or fusing of the traditional and the contemporary, in media, methods or styles in art. With great relevance to Hong Kong’s culture of fusion and blending of tradition with contemporary culture, blending the mixture of old and new, known and hip, it does not only appeal to arts related communities but also to a wide and varied audience.
