龚文桢 1945年12月出生于北京。1979年被中央美术学院录取为工笔花鸟画研究生，1981年毕业。曾任教于中央工艺美术学院。现为中国画研究院一级美术师，文化部全国美术专业高级职称评审委员会委员。享受国务院授予的政府特殊津贴。
　　Gong Wenzhen was born in Beijing in December 1945. He enrolled as a graduate student for flower and bird paintings of fine brushwork at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1979. After graduation in 1981, he has taught at the Central Institute of Arts and Crafts. He is now an Artist of the First Grade of the Academy of Chinese Painting, member of the Judging Committee for National Senior Artist Professional Titles of the Ministry of Culture and recipient of the special government subsidy of the State Council.
